My name is Tate Boyd, and I’m a recent graduate of Northwest High School. I’m currently pursuing my Fire Medic degree at DMACC, and I’ve spent my life learning the value of hard work and community service right here in the Des Moines metro.
You might recognize me from my work at New Creations Child Care in Waukee, or perhaps from my water filtration business, PrimeFlow. I founded Shimmer & Shine because I realized that holiday lighting shouldn't be a stressful chore—it should be a professional, high-end experience for your family.
Whether I’m training for emergency services at DMACC or on a 30-foot ladder at your home, my goal is always the same: Keeping our community safe. I bring a medic’s level of discipline and safety protocols to every roofline, ensuring a pristine install without the "big corporation" price tag.
